Investors in People
The UK Border Agency has achieved re-accreditation as an Investor in People.
The assessors have provided us with their assessment report. They were impressed with the step-change improvement since their last assessment in August 2004. They said that there was a much more positive feel to the organisation and that staff they interviewed were more motivated and supported. They highlighted:
- the strong commitment of the board to learning and development;
- the substantial investment being made in learning and development;
- the significant role of the IND College in supporting the business and creating ownership of learning and development within the business;
- sophisticated and improved business planning, including for learning and development, that reaches down to individuals and their personal objectives;
- the leadership and management suite of courses including Ashridge and Roffey Park;
- good examples of evaluation being undertaken strategically; and
- improvements in communications with staff.
